A little help

Let's get it
looking right.

WidgetWire is in development. These guides describe the current app; a download link and support contact will appear when it launches.

Your first Home Screen widget

  1. Open Templates and choose a layout and size.
  2. Tap a content slot to type a value, or connect a data source.
  3. Open the phone preview and tap Save Widget.
  4. Touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Edit, then Add Widget. On iOS 17, use the + button at the top instead.
  5. Search for WidgetWire and add the matching size. Touch and hold the installed widget, choose Edit Widget and select your saved design.

A widget for the Lock Screen

Choose Lock Screen in the template gallery before making your design. After saving it, touch and hold your unlocked Lock Screen, choose Customize, then the widget area. Find WidgetWire, choose a slot, and select the saved design in that widget's settings.

My widget isn't updating

iOS decides when widgets refresh. Open Sources in WidgetWire, choose the connection, and refresh it to check the data. Confirm the source URL still works and that its column names haven't changed. A temporary failure can leave the last good values visible.

See refresh timing and limits for what to expect. If the source preview is correct but the widget is wrong, check the mapping recipe for your layout.

My data source won't connect

Use the guide for Google Sheets sharing and tabs or JSON authentication. Start with a separate, non-sensitive dataset; never make a private workbook public just to connect it.

I don't want to connect anything

You don't have to. Tap a content slot in the editor and type your own text or number. Personal values are saved on your device.

Getting in touch

The publisher's support address will be added before release.

When reporting an issue, include your iPhone model, iOS version and what you expected to happen. Never include an API key, private sheet link or personal information in a screenshot.
