WidgetWire has no app account, advertising or analytics service. Widget designs are stored on your device. When you connect a source, your device requests that information directly.
The app is in development. These app privacy details describe the current pre-release build; a support contact will be added before the app is released.
What stays on your device
Your widget designs, personal text, selected photos and cached source data are stored in a container shared by WidgetWire and its widget extension. This lets your installed widgets work without the app being open. WidgetWire does not upload those designs to a developer-operated server.
Connected sources and templates
When you connect a Google Sheet, WidgetWire requests its export and tab information from Google. The sheet must be shared with anyone who has the link. Do not make sensitive information public just to use a widget.
When you connect a JSON API or link a custom-template URL, your device requests the address you choose. That provider can receive normal connection information such as your IP address and any authentication you supply, and its own privacy policy applies. Refreshes may occur in the background.
Credentials
API keys are stored in the iOS Keychain, shared only with the app's widget extension through its App Group. The saved widget library contains a reference to the key, not the key itself. Avoid pasting a secret directly into a source URL; use the authentication controls.
Photos
The system photo picker lets you choose a background. WidgetWire stores a downsized copy of the photo you select. It does not scan your photo library or send that photo to a developer-operated service.
Analytics and this website
The app and this site include no analytics, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. This site has no sign-up form. Your chosen light or dark appearance is saved locally in your browser; it is not sent to us. Choosing System removes that saved preference. Cloudflare Pages hosts and delivers this website. Cloudflare processes connection information, including IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and protect the site. A small Cloudflare Worker redirects the www address to this site without storing requests or adding application logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details about its processing.
Removing your information
Remove a widget in the library to delete its design. Photos no longer used by any saved design are cleaned up after a successful save. Remove a source to disconnect it from your widgets and remove its stored credential once that removal has been saved.
Deleting an app does not reliably remove its Keychain items. Remove connected sources inside WidgetWire first if you want their keys removed, and revoke any keys with the original provider when appropriate. iOS manages app-container deletion and device backups.
